This hour-long free seminar from writing school Gotham Writers Workshop is taught by professional writers on different writing topics each month. This month’s short story writing workshop is taught by Alex Mindt, author of the short story collection Male of the Species; he also teaches fiction writing at Gotham Writers Workshop and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University. Mindt will use short lectures to explain several elements of short story writing, and participants will be invited take part in brief writing exercises and discuss the elements of craft that go into creating compelling short stories.
